ASTA colour value

A measure of the extractable surface colour of chilli and paprika, defined by the American Spice Trade Association method. Higher ASTA means more red colour available for extraction; it is independent of heat.
ASTA colour value is a specification buyers put on the contract when sourcing Dried Red Chilli and Paprika from India. If you are buying to this spec and want it verified on your lot, we quote against it and ship with the test report.
