Saffron for export from India to European Union

Who supplies Saffron to European Union?

YouPals exports Saffron from India to European Union in bulk — in the grade and packing you specify, steam-treated and lab-tested to European Union requirements, from sample quantities up to full container loads.

Shipping Saffron to European Union

European Union is a Europe market that took 9% of India’s spice export value in FY2025-26. Consignments of Saffron to European Union usually route through Rotterdam or Hamburg.

On entry to European Union, Saffron classifies under ITC-HS 0910 20 10. Ask us to confirm European Union’s current duty on that line before you commit — we would rather verify it than quote a rate that turns out wrong.

On European Union specifically

No dedicated ITC-HS line — Saffron is not separable in any trade dataset, so no European Union-specific figure can exist.

That does not change what we ship you — it only means we will not print a European Union duty figure we have not verified. Ask us and we will confirm the current rate for your HS line before you commit.

What to specify on a saffron contract

  • Available as whole threads by grade (Mongra/Lachha, Guchhi) and, for some buyers, as standardised saffron extract
  • Graded on the three ISO-style axes qualitatively stated on this site: colouring strength (crocin), aroma (safranal) and flavour/bitterness (picrocrocin), plus the proportion of pure red stigma to yellow style
  • Kashmir saffron carries a GI registration and is noted as among the world's highest-crocin saffron; specify GI provenance where authenticity and grade matter (sourceKey giRegistry)
  • Authenticity/adulteration is the central compliance flag: dyed safflower, maize-silk substitution, added colourant and moisture loading are the known frauds, so laboratory grading and provenance verification are essential
