What the Kashmir Saffron GI means for sourcing
A Geographical Indication ties saffron from jammu-kashmir to a defined origin and its qualities, registered under application 635 and held by Directorate of Agriculture, Srinagar. Buyers who need documented provenance — private-label brands, premium retail, and importers whose own customers ask for it — specify the GI on the contract. When we ship against a GI claim we reference the registration so the mark on your carton holds up.
For grades, specification and the wider trade in this spice, see the Saffron export page. We also ship it to buyers worldwide — tell us your market and grade and we will quote it.
Sourcing Kashmir Saffron or another saffron? Tell us the grade and destination and we quote it, with the provenance documentation your buyer expects.
