The table below is the value share of each category in India's spice exports for FY2025-26 (provisional). Chilli alone is more than a quarter of every export dollar, and the top three categories together are just over half the basket.

What the mix tells a buyer
- Whole spices (chilli, cumin, turmeric, cardamom, pepper) still carry the basket, so origin grade specs matter more than brand.
- Value-added lines (spice oils & oleoresins at 12%, curry powder / paste at 6%, mint products at 8%) show India moving past raw commodity supply.
- Small cardamom at 9% is auction-priced, so its share moves with price as much as volume.
