Buy Guntur S4 for heat, Byadgi for colour — they are not interchangeable. If you need both in a blend, buy both and mix; there is no single Indian chilli that delivers 40,000 SHU and ASTA 140 at once.

  • — Guntur S4 is 35,000–45,000 SHU but only ASTA 100–120
  • — Byadgi is ASTA 130–150 but a mild 8,000–15,000 SHU
  • — Oleoresin and paprika buyers take Byadgi; heat-driven food buyers take Guntur

Unless: You are buying for extraction, where colour yield (Byadgi) or capsaicin yield (Guntur/Teja) is the only axis that matters and the other is irrelevant.
